The Band

Lead Vocals

Devona "Devo" Dawson

Devona “Devo” Dawson has been singing for most of her life….just not always in front of a crowd!! But you can’t stop her now! She’s a bold, bright woman born and raised on the South Side of Chicago. Joining the Rumor Hazit lineup in 2010, Devo brought not only tough female vocals, but a fun party attitude. On the weekends you can always find Miss Devo belting out some rock, pop, disco, or dance with her Rumor Hazit band brothers.

Don’t even try to test her out with movie quotes, because she’s not also a great singer, but she’s a cinematic encyclopedia!! Ask her if you can shake her tambourine! She’s quick with a joke or to light up your smoke! Come out and party with Devo and Rumor Hazit!!
Guitar & Vocals

Dave Eakins

Dave gravitated toward guitar when he saw the potential to pick up unsuspecting women even if he only kinda knew how to play. Shortly after dawning his axe and wearing zebra striped ZUBAZ, he realized quickly that he could have a guitar in one hand, a fist full of hundo’s in the other and Eddie Van Halen playing the actual guitar parts and he still wouldn’t stand a chance at landing the most deparate of rock chicks.

Clinging helplessly to an instrument he barley understands, Dave has come full circle and now enjoys a steady stream of desperate housewives that are too jacked up on Zoloft to fully appreciate the disappointment. Or maybe it’s the loincloth he’s wearing on stage these days!
Keyboards & Vocals

Keith
Colgrove

From the first time I watched “Live at the Acropolis” from Yanni I knew I wanted to be just like him…Have long flowing hair and marry Linda Evans. Since neither of those things were possible I decided to play piano, after years of lessons and recitals that lasted well into my 30’s I realized the only thing Yanni and I would ever have in common is our Greek heritage.

I decided after my long touring career as a recital superstar to start stalking a mediocre local cover band that was struggling with it’s image. Convincing them that I could play in their band would finally put to rest any notion that I would ever be like Yanni. As a matter of fact since joining Rumor Hazit my Greek heritage has been revoked!

Bass

Joe Buchberger

As a little rocker of 5 years old, Joe threw down his Thundercats action figures and picked up a guitar. He was the only one on the playground wearing a VanHalen t-shirt and a bandana. Flash forward to 2009 and Joe is now Slapping Da Bass with Rumor Hazit!!

His passion for music gives him the drive to play and his musical ear gives him the ability to learn quickly. Joe is always ready to lend a hand and throw out a joke. Not to mention his contribution of 2 roadies in training….twin boys!!

Drums & Vocals

Dan Dillon

Dan was born keep a beat. Even as young as a baby he would play with his spoons on his high-chair to the beat of the music he could hear on the gramophone. It wasn’t until the Civil war when he really learned his trade.

Playing the Battle Hymn of the Republic or as you may better know it, Glory Glory Hallelujah with the marching troops for inspiration. As time moved on he was able to play through the ages with names like Benny Goodman, Glen Miller Orchestra, The Del-Vikings, The Mamas and the Papas, and of course the Bee Gees, until settling down with his favorite group to play with, Rumor Hazit.
